Are you tired of feeling behind? Not reckless, not lazy, just behind. Like, no matter how hard you try, you're always playing catch up.And today, right now, you don't have the energy for a full financial overhaul. You just need one small step, one small win that makes you feel steadier before you even go to bed tonight. Well, guess what?Today I'm going to give you that step. Hello, friend. Ralph Estep Jr. Here. This is financially Confident Christian, where every day my goal is to help you break that cycle of financial shame and do it with confidence. And today's topic is this one step you can take today or tonight to feel more financially stable. Let's get right to today's listener question.Ralph, I'm tired of feeling behind all the time. I don't have it in me for a full financial overhaul. But I need to do something tonight to feel less like I'm drowning. What's one concrete step I can take this evening that'll make my money situation feel more stable? I just need a small win to hold on to something that shows me I'm not completely lost. I just want to say thank you for sending me that.Thank you for the vulnerability in that because it's so easy to feel lost at times, isn't it? And we just need one win. We feel like we've been knocked down and drug across all kinds of terrible situations all week long. And right now you're just man, I just want one win before I can go to bed. I'm going to give you that today because what I realize is stability starts with visibility. When you feel unstable, what I have found, it's usually because things feel unknown. You don't have clarity. You're not tracking things. You're uncertain about it. So today I'm not trying to fix everything.Right now I just want to help you turn on the light so you can see with clarity what's really going on. Well, how do we do that?First thing I want you to do, open every financial account you have, your checking account, your savings account, any credit cards, loan balances, car loan balances, mortgages. Don't judge yourself. I just want you to look at them. Because here's what happens to a lot of people. You avoid looking at it, and when you avoid it, it just creates more anxiety when you put it out there in the open. That clarity creates calm. So once you've looked at those things, I want you to write down three numbers. That's it. Just three.I want you to write down the total cash you have on hand. The total minimum payments due this month on all your debts and the total debt balance. This isn't a time to analyze.I just want you to ground yourself in reality. Because what I see, fear exaggerates, but numbers tell the truth. Think about it like this. How many times have you said, oh, I've got a mountain of credit card debt. What does that mountain look like? Write it down. And then once you do that, I want you to identify one pressure point. When you write all those things down, you're going to feel one thing. You're going to be like, ralph, this is a pressure point for me. What feels most unstable? Maybe it's your bank account balance. You have that overdraft risk all the time. Maybe it's that 1 billion. Oh, I hate this bill, Ralph. I just dread this bill. Maybe for you it's. Your account balance is always low.I just want you to circle one of those because that's going to become your focus for the next seven days. And then I want you to do this. I want you to take one protective action right now, tonight, before you go to sleep, for example.Maybe move $25 into your savings account. Cancel one of those unused subscriptions. Yeah, you know I'm always talking about those. Set up one payment reminder, even an automatic payment. So I'm not going to worry about missing that this month. Maybe make one small extra payment. Or maybe text yourself this. No spending tomorrow.Because what I've seen is one protective move will help you build up real momentum. And then finally, I want you to do this. I want you to create a seven day stability promise for the next week. I want you to promise yourself this.No new debt, no emotional spending and no ignoring those balances. Just awareness and control. Let's think about this for a second. Seven days, that's manageable, isn't it?And when you can manage something, it builds confidence. Because what I will tell you, you will find here is that clarity. Seeing what the reality is will honestly calm the chaos. So here's your assignment for today. Open your accounts, write down those three numbers and circle one pressure point. And that can be your win for today. You've identified the issue and now you've got a transformation that can happen right away. It's not going to be an overnight transformation, but you're going to know what to look at and you're going to build some traction.Let's get into our Bible verse today. It comes from the book of Lamentations, chapter 3, verses 22 and 23.Because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness, friend, no matter how chaotic yesterday felt. And you might be living through an absolute chaotic storm right now. God gives you a promise and a fresh start tonight and a new beginning tomorrow morning. Let's pray together. Father God, you see how tired people are.You see the mental load, that quiet fear, that feel of always being behind. So right now, Lord, I ask that you will replace panic with peace. Lord, help our listeners face the numbers without shame.Give them courage to take one small step today or tonight, whenever they do that and remind them they're not consumed. Lord, your mercy is new, your faithfulness is steady and stability can truly begin with just one faithful action. And we ask this in Jesus name, Amen.Friend, I want to leave you with this piece of encouragement. You're not lost, you're not drowning. You're just one small step away from steadier ground. And I'd love to hear from you.If you've got a question for the show or hey, if you just want to share something that's going on in your life, some win you've had or something you're struggling with, go to financiallyconfidentchristian.com/voicemail we'll put a link to that in the show notes, but I'm going to give it to you again. Listen, you can just call and say, ralph, here's what's going on. Doesn't have to be a question, just share something for the show. What's working for you? What's not working for you? I love to hear from the listeners.Go to financiallyconfidentchristian.com/voicemail so thank you so much for joining me today. I want to encourage you to stay financially savvy.
